cannot find it but someone did come up with a thai site a while back................i,m sure someone will remember. Some folks go to the airlines own sites direct. A bit tedious I know.

I found several problems when trying to book a flight for M earlier this year.
Firstly you need to find an airline that will let you book a flight from BKK if you are in the UK
Secondly you need the airline's website to accept a passenger name which is not the same as that on the credit card used to pay for the flight
Thirdly watch out in the booking terms that there is not a clause that says you must have the credit card used to pay for the flight with you at the airport
Given the above I gave up and went through Expedia.co.uk The service was great, everything was set up fine and even when everything went wrong (M rushed to hospital 24 hours before flight for appendix operation !!) they changed the flights for a mere £19.(twice since I figured it would take a few weeks for her to recover but she wanted to travel asap)
Will definately use Expedia again when I book her next flight (currently awaiting settlement visa)

Hi Squadie. moxtravel.com specialise in BKK-LHR-BKK. Recommended to me some months ago but not used them personally to date. Perhaps others here have experience of them. Good luck.

You can book flights this end without presenting the card problems by booking direct with the airline (I did with TG for a one way BKK-LHR first time other half came on f/v ) but I have since done many bookings both ways with www.westeast.co.uk who actually have very good prices as well (worth trying)

Well, I phoned WestEastTravel and they said you couldn't do it?

Or you had to pay full TG fare, can't remember which?

You must have got a newbie working there as I have done it by phone as well as direct with TG (did have to go to TG's office though)

Maybe West East have changed as it was a while back

My wife's flight to the UK was booked with Westeast Travel. Both Westeast and Southall Travel can book BKK-UK-BKK flights but they both state that they may not be able to get promotion prices for flights originating in Thailand. However, in the case of my wife's 1 way flight, Westeast came out cheaper than 2 agents in Bangkok.

    Oh dear

Paid about £800 for a return with Eva booked in BKK.

EDIT - The gf just got off the phone. They can sell you two singles on Thai Airways which works out at about £800 return.

No major loss of £, but would have been nice for the gf to fly Thai as they have evening flights and we could travel together and get miles.

Many operators have evening flights and don't be too sure about the miles. A lot of the cheaper tickets come with either no or reduced miles. I'm flying out there on Thai in a couple of weeks and returning with my wife - no miles! The only reason I'm using Thai is because it was the best deal I could get. In my opinion there are far better operators - my prefered one Etihad, beat Thai hands down in terms of service and aircraft quality.

I've always used Thai and paid the extra to get a ticket with miles mainly because I will only fly direct....and I like the fact that I "feel" like I'm in LOS as soon as I get on the plane

Plus, by paying for a "Q" class or above fare I've been able to change my return date on several occasions for free or a small charge.

I've used Moxtravel.com. No problems at all, got a good price with them on Eva. Can also pay with your credit card.

So Squadie having got all this feedback where are you up to ?
Have you booked a flight ?
What have you found out ?
If all goes well I will be booking a one way BKK - UK flight soon for M and it would be interesting to hear how you get on.
Appreciated Colin 244 highlighting Westeast since they are a company I had not heard of. Looks like they have some good deals to BKK from London but when I checked their flights from Glasgow and Manchester their prices were not so competative.
All information is good information !

WestEastTravel are one of the best agents for flights to Thailand.

They seem to have "connections" with Thai Airways and get some special prices.

I suggest that you always call, as you usually get a better deal than what's shown online.
