GF in UK on Visitor Visa, can I get another straight after?

Hi All,

My GF is in UK since early in the year on a UKVI 10 standard visitor visa which expires mid year. I know that we cannot apply for another such visa without leaving the UK to do so. But will a second be granted within a few days/weeks of having only just left the UK? Is there a limit on how many such visa can issued or any time delay needed?

Do we need to return to Thai to apply, or can we do it from somewhere closer, eg. Turkey (for which Thais do not need a visa).

I’m sure it’s something like a maximum of 180 days in a 12 month period, otherwise she would effectively be living in the UK on a tourist visa. So if she’s staying the full 6 months of the visa validity, you will probably have to wait another 6 months to get another one.

She will need to apply back in Thailand. She cannot stay more than 180 days in any 12 month period. If she is sshown to be trying to beat the system and stay 6 months year, she will get refused, as Macken says they will believe she is trying to get around the settlement route.
