ILR Life in the UK/language?

Hello everyone,

We are preparing an application for an Indefinite Leave to Remain visa.
I just want to check I understand the requirements.
If my wife passes the "Life in the UK" test, am I correct in thinking she does not require to do an English language test as well. (She had to do one previously for FLR)

Yet another question,
I can't seem to find any mention if there is an "expiry date" on the Life in the UK test. Can the test be taken any time before the ILR application is made, 6 months for example?

Yes, it can, there is not an expiry date for a "Life in the UK test pass".
