  • Schengen visa marriage certificate authorisation.

    Good evening all.
Today I tried to submit my wife’s documents to VFS Global in London so that she could obtain a schengen visa to allow her to travel with me for a holiday in Italy. I had supplied the correct documents except my marriage certificate had not been re-authorised in last six months by the Thai embassy which apparently is now a new requirement for a schengen visa.
Before I contact the Thai Embassy does anyone know what service I should be asking the Thai Embassy for. Is it legalise the marriage certificate? To complicate matters I only have copies of the marriage certificate so will they stamp this.? Also do I just turn up at the London Thai Embassy and wait our turn?
    Many thanks for your assistance.

Had 5 schengen in the last 2 years and all of a sudden the Spanish required the Thai Embassy to stamp our marriage cert. We did have to make an appointment and the cost was £10 cash. What language is your certificate in? The Spanish Embassy do not return the certificate so make a good copy ( Italy could be the same)...tell them it is the original and hope.
Whilst BLS dont charge for a visa it still cost me £100 Thai Embassy , visa application, visa collection, 3 trips to London, train and car park and handling charge Oh and a coffee when you get there. Cheaper to stay in England. Good luck
