buying extra pension years ??? possible ?

A certain thai member asked me this question recently and the DWP website seems unhelpful.
A thai born/uk citizen is unlikely to get her 30 years required for full state pension and I am wondering if it is possible to buy extra years ? Anyone got any ideas to look before i attempt to make contact with the DWP.

You can buy extra years...The other thing you can do is postpone your pension and if you do this you get 10% more each year you postpone your pension starting age..

Agree with above post Linne and they actually write to you about this if you have been on PAYE then stopped (wifey was sent one about topping up)

They sent Indigo Info about topping up , she worked before studying full time , in her case it s not even worth looking at .
But for people who are younger and will work in the UK until they retire , it could be worth looking into .
