  • Latest Air fares 2023

When EVA announced they would start to commence flights from LHR to BKK starting in July, they were going to operate on 3 weekly flights till the end of August. From September, they planned to operate 4 weekly flights, October 5 weekly flights and hoped to be back to 7 weekly flights by November.

Thai Airways are charging £1097.00 for the return July 7th -31st August 2023. Miles too much. Has anyone found a cheaper flight that's non-stop?

We paid around £3,400 for Eva Air for the three of us travelling when the school summer holidays start in July and returning 30 days later in August. That fare included 2 x 20kg per person as baggage allowance and selecting our own seats.

Fairs look extraordinary now. Managed to fly for 620 return on EVA air last November but those days seem over at least for now. Lowest fairs with a change seem to be at least 650. Is this the new norm I wonder? We won't be heading for Thailand this year for sure

Looking back to the July/August school holidays last year, our Eva Air return fares to BKK for the three of us came to £2,200. This year, for the same dates, the tickets have cost us £3,400.

I couldn't, or rather wouldn't, go as I normally do for a Christmas break as flight prices were £1200, double what I had paid before.

Instead I am trying out a new time to visit and will be off in a months time for 6 weeks, flying with EVA at a cost of £755. Not great but a lost better than 1200 quid.

Also got another flight in May for 3 weeks, again with EVA but at a slightly cheaper cost of £718 but this I cashed in a few air miles from their frequent flyer scheme which knocked it down to £605, a much more palatable price.

I'm going with EVA in September for £586.74 plus £66 for a seat. They had a sale in November

Surely the price of £586.74 would include a seat? If you didn't pay the £66.00 then what do you get for £586.74

Most airlines now charge extra for the seat. Thai doesn't, but price is much more

they charge extra for you selecting a seat not for getting a seat

You can still book a seat for free 24 hours before take off ?

It depends what level of ticket you buy.
I bought an Economy level ticket on EVA Air for my trip today that included free seat selection, outbound and inbound.
But in May my outbound ticket is a class that I have free seat selection but my inbound flight class ticket does not and is chargeable.

Just for clarity its free seat selection not a charge for the actual seat which is allocated before takeoff, I travelled premium economy last year and seat selection one leg was extra but the allocated seats were free.

When Etihad first flew from Manchester to Bangkok return flights were only £375.

We're looking at flights next August, Finnair are showing £825 including 1×23kg baggage allowance.

Any suggestions for airlines / websites offering decent fares.

I find booking early gets the cheapest deals.
