I just sold a BMW GS1200 Adventure, which would also be a great bike over there.
Yes, I like the T7 but its quite expensive compared with the other two, I am would also like the CRF 300 to play about on.

I had the 1200 GSA, bought it when I retired from the Army in 2006, got it from Barrie Robsons in York, travelled all over Europe on it

    • With the recent watering down of inter-provincial travel , we decided Mrs would drive from Surin and I would meet up in Pak Chong (Nakhon Ratchasima) and have a few days around Khao Yai National Park before heading back to BKK.
Mrs had a trouble free drive, I used BTS / MRT and a 40 baht motorcycle taxi to reach the New Mini Van Station (Chatuchak) which is opposite Mo Chit Bus Terminal, had to sign in, write the time have hand gel applied upon entry, went inside to collect ticket and pay 160 baht to Pak Chong, the van went on time and arrived on time, I got dropped at Shell petrol station where Mrs was parked up, unsurprising seat fully back and in the land of nod I would have expected that scenario or eating, but she had eaten first. Back in the land of Isaan. We lodged in Pak Chong, have to say lots of places looked shutdown and or abandoned near the park entrance (north) and surrounds , Vento Piazza for example, the apartments were open, the shops / businesses were all closed down, some of the roofs were in disrepair, quite sad.

        • Well, I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is the last bit of building work finished

          My Room

I just to paint it myself when I get home, although I may ask Ohm to get her brother to paint the outside but leave the inside for me. Can anyone recommend some good floor paint?

          The extended outside toilet

          • [QUOTE=Melteddrummer;n447658]Wayne & Ohm Wow, your development looks fantastic! Can't wait till we're at your stage. We've bought a couple of rai in Yasothon but it's not for building on. I just love the place!

That's exactly how I see myself retiring, albeit a way off yet. The rice fields, greenery, and general way of life are wonderful up there.

Hopefully going to Pak Chong via Khao Yai NP the southern route tomorrow, Nakhon Nayok / Prachin Buri. My first time in Khao Yai NP was 2003. Fingers crossed things will pick up.
PS : Are you setting up a home gym in ''your room'' ?

              • sisaket I have not thought about setting up a home gym in the room, I had it built to house my tools, bike and bike gear. But its food for thought if I have the room once all is inside

                  • Rice Harvesting pt1

It's great to be home. Yet again I made it just in time for the rice harvest, so we have been quite busy 5555.
They got to our place at about 2100 so it had the makings of being a long night. However at about 0015 the machine had a fit and decided to break down and they could not fix it until daylight, so by about 0130 we were in bed.
Doing it at night gave me chance to use the night mode on my iPhone 12 Pro, I have never had chance to use it before and I thought the photos were great. You do have to hold the phone steady for varying times ranging from 3 to 10 seconds, depending on how much light you want in.

                    • Rice Harvesting pt2

The guys doing the harvesting machine were back by about 0700 and got cracking on with the task in hand. Fixing the machine did not take long then they were back at it. The plan is now finished and Ohm has another one a couple of K's away from us which we will get done in a few days
In the mean time I have the inside of my room to paint

On a different note does anyone know where I can get some Dexion Racking from? I can only find the crap stuff that you get from the likes of Makro and Global eco. I would like some stronger heavy duty stuff.

                              • Went to view the Mrs / family fruit and vegetable gardens project in Surin today, and ate some of the produce later: The rice has been bagged and the rice grass has been used around the gardens to keep the organic fertilizer moist after watering, they will put in some pumpkins on part of the rice fields, should be in / out before the next rice cycle. They are growing sugarcane and have a machine for juice, also at various stages are bananas, papaya, lychee, passion fruit, rose apples, jack-fruit, durian, santol fruit, dragon fruit, green and red long-bean, coriander, carrots, chili, korean cucumber, potatoes, basil, morning glory, lemongrass, garlic, thai olive, various plants grown to make organic fertilizer. They have a small amount of solar panels to run the main water pump.
There are plenty of crabs (poo naa) in the rice fields, although someone has been digging some out when Mrs had a inspection this morning (used by locals in som tam).
The main water storage has been excavated in the shape of an elephant, which is best observed from above, a couple of my sister-in-laws has drone footage.
