And after rice production, it's off to the rice dealer.

You weigh them in and you weigh them out, the farmer gets paid for the difference:

                          Drying the rice:

                          Stacking it high:

                          Unloading:

Different types of rice stored separately:

                          Off to the processing plant:

                          Happy farmer - maybe?

The rice production in my pictures did nt go to rice dealers , I have a small quantity here in BKK.
The rice gets donated to various Temples IE my Brother - in - laws Temple in Yasothon , the rest is kept in a ricehouse to eat and some is held back for people who are having a hard time or finding it difficult to feed their families (in the local area) .

Same as for my ex's family, although I have no idea what they do now. But they stopped selling their rice from their 10 Rai as the return was so poor, but as they were poor themselves, there was no opportunity really to be generous to others. What they didn't use themselves (stored in a rice barn that I had built), or sell locally, was used for bartering and I recall seeing this happening in the village. Guy's would turn up in a pick-up selling chicks, and would leave with a mixture of bartered goods and money in return for the chicks.

Incidentally, my photos were taken in Khon Kaen in November 2014. It's the other half's brothers place. Funny seeing it from both sides of the equation as my recollection was that the dealers weren't the most popular of people. In fact they were so busy on the two visits we made at that time, that the other half went to work in the office helping her sister in law. I went for a wander and nearly got buried in rice once or twice!
