  • Translation of Inscription

    Hi Forum,

This is my first post to this site and I am hoping that someone will be able to translate an inscription on what I believe to be a solid silver ice bucket.

I think I have successfully translated the last line of the inscription as "19 July 95" but I have been unable to make sense of the rest of it. Interestingly, while the inscription is in Thai, the marks on the bottom of the bucket are in Chinese (足银: pure silver, and 頼喜成: likely the name of the silversmith).

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

I spent a little more time on this and this and came up with a translation that seems plausible. I am hoping someone can confirm/correct the following:

    ทีระลึก
    จาก ดถเะเทศมนตรี
    และ
    พนัก งานเทศบาล
    เมือง อุตตว่ดิด ถ์
    19กค95

    Which google translates to:

    Gift
    from the alderman
    and
    municipal office staff
    Uttaradit city
    19 July 95

      Posting another possible translation of:
      ทีระลึก จาก ดถเะเทศมนตรี และ พนัด งานเทศบาล เมือง อุตตว่ดิด ถ์ 19กค95

Which when typed all in a single line, google translates to:
Souvenir from the alderman and the appointment of Uttaradit municipality 19 July 95

However I think a similar meaning in English would actually be the following:
Commemoration of the appointment of the alderman to the municipality of Uttaradit 19 July 95
