Religious Days 2008 วันพิธีในศาสนา

21st February 2008 ๒๑ กุมภาพันธ์ ๒๕๕๑	วันมาฆบูชา Makha Bucha Day Takes place on the full moon of the third lunar month. Commemorates the day Lord Buddha recited the "Ovadha Patimokkha" (Fundamental Teaching) to his disciples.

19th May 2008 ๑๙ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๕๑	วันวิสาขบูชา Visakha Bucha Day Takes place on the 15th day of the waxing moon in the 6th lunar month. Commemorates Buddha's birth, enlightenment and death (Parinibbana).

17th July 2008 ๑๗ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๕๑	วันอาสาฬหบูชา Asaraha Bucha Day Also called "Dhamma Day", it takes place on the 15th day of the waxing moon in the 8th lunar month . Commemorates the day on which Lord Buddha delivered his first Sermon to his five disciples.

18th July 2008 ๑๘ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๕๑	วันเข้าพรรษา Khao Phansa Day Taking place on the first day of the waning moon in the 8th lunar month. The first day of the three month long Buddhist Lent, a retreat from the rains (the Vassa).
14th October 2008 ๑๔ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๑	วันออกพรรษ Pavarana Day Marking the end of the rains (the Vassa). During the next four weeks, the Kathin ceremony will be held, where the laity make formal offerings of robe cloth and other requisites to the Sangha.
12th November 2008 ๑๒ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๕๑	วันออกพรรษา เริ่มกฐินกาล Loy Krathong Day Marking the end of the four week Kathin ceremony, when the rivers and canals are full of water, the Loy Krathong Festival takes place on the full moon night of the twelfth Lunar month. People bring bowls made of leaves containing flowers, candles and incense sticks, and float them in the water. As they go, all bad luck is supposed to float away with them.

6th April ๖ เมษายน	วันจักรี Chakri Day The anniversary of the founding of the present Chakri Dynasty in 1782 of which the present ruling monarch, King Bhumibol the Great, is the ninth king.
5th May ๕ พฤษภาคม	วันฉัตรมงคล Coronation Day The coronation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej took place on 5th May 1950. On 5th May of every year, the Thai people rejoice and express their affection and loyalty to him by organizing a celebration on his coronation day.
12th August ๑๒ สิงหาคม	วันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand The people of Thailand celebrate the birthday of their beloved Queen Sirikit. The Queen is regarded as mother to all Thai people so her birthday is also celebrated as National Mother's Day.
23rd October ๒๓ ตุลาคม	วันปิยะมหาราช Piyamaharaj Day King Chulalongkorn Rama V of Thailand The death of King Rama V on 23rd October 1910 was a great loss to the entire nation as he was one of the most honored and beloved kings. Belief in the King’s miraculous power of bringing good luck and prosperity to those who pay respect to him means that King Rama V’s picture can be found in almost every home and workplace.
5th December ๕ ธันวาคม	วันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา H.M. King Bhumibol Rama IX of Thailand The World's Longest Serving Monarch A celebration of his birthday. Day of national celebration, rejoicing, prayers and thanksgiving for such is the high esteem the Thai people hold for their King.
10th December ๑๐ ธันวาคม	วันรัฐธรรมนูญ Constituton Day Commemorates the advent of the regime of Constitutional Monarchy in Thailand in 1932.
