There are a many privately run English courses available nationwide although these can often be very expensive and not necessarily better than those offered by state run courses. There are two main types of English courses for non-English speakers, available in Colleges, Universities and Libraries throughout the country. These are ESOL (a course designed for UK residents) and EFL (for visiting students). In addition, there are several websites which offer free English lessons for speakers of other languages. |

The Rosetta Stone's Dynamic Immersion method works by simulating the natural language learning process we all experienced as children. No translation. No memorisation. No drills or lists. With instruction exclusively in the target language, you start thinking in the new language from the very first lesson. The association of pictures, native speaker voices and texts allows you to master basic vocabulary quickly. And this in turn acts as a foundation on which to build words, phrases, sentences, and grammatical structures, still in the target language only. | |
