Yes, photos in bars are probably not the best sort of evidence to submit. Might well be nothing wrong with it but I was advised not to submit that type of photo when I applied.

What they are normally looking for are photos of you over a period of time not just one time at different locations. The need to show a lasting relationship is what the evidence is about.
Not sure the change of clothes would fool them in to thinking it was different dates/visits to LOS as your tan/appearance would not have changed. And you don't really want to start contriving evidence.

Have a look and see if there are any photos that could look like you were at a restaurant or party from the ones you have.

Certainly take more when there this time, nothing wrong in doing that, but as I said I would advise against trying to pass them off as previous visits.

When we applied, I included about 20 odd photos.

Not all of them were of "us", some were of my gf and her friends, infact only about 6 were "us" on our own.

But they were in different places - restaurants, on the beach, tourist sites and hotels in Bkk and Bali spread over two visits...Although you couldn't really tell

Its useful to emphasise the fact that they were taken in different places.

Amongst the ones we sent was one on top of doi inthanon underneath the sign, Ayutayah ruins, again unmistakable, Chiang Mai Zoo with pic of pandas. You get the idea.

As already touched upon in this thread, but perhaps not explicity stated, the whole concept when applying for a visa is one of intention. At the point of application, what is in the mind of the visa applicant?

If the intent is to visit the UK for, let's say, 3 months, but a causal factor arises post-arrival which results in a longer stay, then that should not militate against subsequent applications as it was not "intended" and can be explained. However, where the visa applicant has a seed in his or her mind that is not revealed at the time of application, and which is material, this could constitute deception; e.g. someone who states that they will stay for 3 months in their own knowledge that, should the visit visa be granted, they will stay for as long as permitted.

I'd advise sticking to the facts of the case as they are at the time of application and arguing their viability, rather than seeking to mislead through misguided expedience and a belief in what the visa officer "wants to hear".

    Mike,
Is this the Ex ECO coming out?
RE- Sticking to the facts against telling them what they want to hear?/ we know which one works for us and we will (Without any lies or deception )be using it in future applications

I'm not sure I understand your point, but present whichever case you see fit (as long as I'm not associated with it).

Bear in mind that although there is no duty of candour, witholding material facts can constitue "silent" deception.

at the moment i am drafting/ helping my girlfriend write a letter regarding applicants back ground for her visit visa, should i just write a brief write up on her school, upbringing, jobs she has had ( not many ) and a little bit about her honest good nature ( the usual stuff ) or is it not that inportant to write anything about her background ?
also as the visa pack is building up it seems to be jam packed with my stiff ( bank, property, payslips, and other bits n bobs ) but her documents are only a few, a letter from her boss, her rent agreement on her flat and her id stuff is this normal ?

Similar to visitors to the USA, they may be looking for her "strong ties" to Thailand.

Background information is not necessary for a VV but if there's some important or interesting stuff, it does no harm to include it. My wife's application for a VV last year included her degree and full education history. Obviously we have no idea what convinced the ECO to grant her visa but as they say at Tesco "every little helps".
