Congratulations on the ILR, but British passport next? No! British passports are only issued to British Citizens, so next she needs to become British, by applying for Naturalisation.

Use form AN to apply for Naturalisation. When she applies, she MUST have been physically in the UK exactly 3 years before UKBA receive the Naturalisation application.

Many congratulations on your ILR success.
We are watching the clock tick tick tick until June when Pat can apply for Naturalisation. It will certainly be worth the wait; not sure about the cost though! But hey, the little lady is worth every penny, and more.

    Hi Stephen

The fee for naturalisation (form AN) is currently £720, but I think that is set to go up on 6th April 2010.

After successful application and attendance of a citizenship ceremony, she'll have a Certificate of Naturalisation and will be British as well as Thai.

A British passport is then a separate application and fee altogether, currently £77.50.

Having a British passport does not make her any more British, it is merely a travel document. It is the Certificate of Naturalisation that fundamentally proves her citizenship, in the same way your birth certificate proves yours.
