Instructing Windows to work with a Thai keyboard:

There are two types of Thai keyboard.

    These instructions apply to Windows 98, instructions may vary for other versions.

  1. Click Start then Settings then Control Panel:

  3. Double click the Keyboard icon:
  4.  

     

  5. The Keyboard properties window will then appear:
  6.  

     

  7. Select Language then click Add...
  8.  

     

  9. Select Thai from the list of choices, then click OK.
  10.  

    NB. If Thai is not amongst the list of languages, you will first need to install Windows Thai keyboard drivers. Microsoft's website no longer offers the International Language Support option to do this. To manually install the Thai keyboard drivers for Windows 95, 98 or Me, CLICK HERE and follow the instructions shown, then repeat the above instructions from the top of this page.

     

  11. Back in the Keyboard Properties window, ensure the box headed Enable indicator on taskbar is ticked.

  13. Click OK.

 

    Thereonafter a taskbar indicator will show the current language selected. To switch your keyboard between English and Thai:

     

  1. Click the taskbar indicator, a popup window will appear:
  2.  

     

  3. Select either Thai or English, the taskbar indicator will display either En or Th to indicate the current setting.
  4. You can now type in the language you have selected
