Instructing Internet Explorer to display Thai Fonts:

 

Back to Thai Fonts Menu    Home Page

    These instructions apply to Internet Explorer 6, instructions may vary for other versions.

     

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Tools then Internet Options...
  3. The Internet Options window will appear:

  5. Click Languages. The Language Preference window will appear:
  6.  

     

  7. Click Add... The Add Language window will appear:
  8.  

     

  9. Select Thai [th], then click OK.
  10. Back in the Language preference window, click OK.
  11. Back in the Internet Options window, click Fonts....
  12.  

     

  13. Change the Language script to show Thai.
  14. Select your Web Page Font and Plain text font from the list ensuring that thai letters can be seen in the displays below each selection.
  15. Click OK.
  16. Back in the Internet Options window click OK again.

     

    You should only need to carry out the above procedure once. Thereonafter Internet Explorer is fully capable of displaying Thai fonts. You may occasionally need to carry out the following to force Internet Explorer to display the fonts correctly:

     

  1. Whenever you view a web page containing Thai fonts but cannot see the Thai characters, click the right mouse button on the page you are viewing and a pop up window similar to the one below will appear:

  3. Click Encoding then click the selection Thai (Windows), the page will then refresh and you should be able to see Thai characters correctly.
